The Dabee Morning Walk
To begin our walk you will be 'Welcomed to Country', a Ceremony which introduces you to the land and its Custodians, we believe this simple act enriches your experience and helps keep you safe while visiting Wiradyuri Country. The Dabee Walk offers an immersive connection to Wiradyuri Culture and the stunning Ganguddy landscape. The Duration of the Walk is 1 hour it is an easy walk, with minimum fitness required, but does include dirt paths and is not wheelchair accessible.
The tour is led by an Aboriginal guide and explores the history and stories of the Dabee Wiradyuri people, the Traditional Custodians of Ganguddy.
The Dabee Walk wanders through stunning Pagoda rock formations which once formed a vast inland sea. These Pagoda rocks are known to the Dabee people as 'Murriyang' (the rocks that have their own song).
Learn how to identify and use some traditional foods and medicines. Your guide will share some Wiradjuri language for the food, medicine and animals we encounter while walking. Visitors often see Lyrebirds, Water rats, Platypus, Kangaroos and Wombats and many other species live in this beautiful National Park
Experience Aboriginal Art as old as time in several rock art sites, and visit a pre-settlement scarred tree.
After the 'Dabee Walk' take the opportunity to cool off in the pristine Cudgegong River, or hire a canoe from Southern Cross Kayaking and explore this stunning waterway, a perfect way to end your Cultural experience.
